Leonard English, Managing Director, Investments

Leonard English has over 14 years of community investing and asset management experience.  Most recently Mr. English served as the Director of Positive Social Purpose Investments for the pension fund of the United Methodist Church.  In that role, he managed a $650 million dollar community investment portfolio as part of the organization’s social responsible investing strategy.  Mr. English had primary responsibility for investment selection, pricing, monitoring and reporting.

Besides his work at BECA, Mr. English is a speaker and panelist on community investing and microfinance investing strategies. He also serves as a Board Member and is on the Loan Advisory Committee for Partner for the Common Good, a national recognized community development financial institution.  Mr. English is a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in Economics.

 

Annmarie Brown, Managing Director, Investor Relations & Social Performance  

Annmarie Brown has over 10 years of experience in social investing, including time working with socially motivated investors and socially responsible assets.  Most recently, Ms. Brown has focused on social investor strategies within the microfinance investment sector.  This work has included developing methods to assist investors in balancing social performance and financial requirements.   Ms. Brown’s experience in microfinance is further enhanced by her participation in the Social Performance Taskforce, the microfinance industry collaboration responsible for developing social performance metrics.  The work has allowed Ms. Brown to build an extensive network of relationships within the microfinance sector.  

Annmarie started her career at Domini Social Investments where she managed institutional relationships and sales in addition to serving on the Domini’s Social Policy Review Committee. Ms. Brown holds BA and MBA; she is a graduate of Wellesley College.
